Narayan Jagadeesan Domestic Career
Narayan Jagadeesan is one of the top-rated wicket-keeper batsmen in the domestic circuit. He made his first-class debut for Tamil Nadu at a very young age of 20 in the 2016-17 Ranji Trophy against Madhya Pradesh. The youngster impressed everyone by scoring 123 runs batting lower down the order and also cemented his place in the squad.
Jagadeesan has so far played 23 first-class games in the domestic circuit and has scored 1174 runs from his 23 games so far. The wicket-keeper batsman also has 4 centuries to his name in this format.
Talking about his white-ball stats, Jagadeesan made his List-A debut for Tamir Nadu in the 2016-17 Vijay Hazare Trophy against Uttar Pradesh on February 26, 2017. He did not have a great outing on his debut as he was dismissed for 10 runs. He has scored 1007 runs in his 28 List-A games so far with an average of 35.
The Tamil Nadu lad also made his T20 Debut for Tamir Nadu against Hyderabad on January 30, 2017. He scored 18 runs on his debut and was the highest run-scorer in this game as the whole team got bundled out for 93. Jagadeesan has played 35 T20 matches so far and has scored 702 runs which also includes 4 half-centuries.
He has also been a consistent performer for the Dindigul Dragons in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL). Jagadeesan’s ability with the bat and gloves also earned him an IPL contract with his favorite IPL team Chennai Super Kings.

Narayan Jagadeesan was bought by the Chennai Super Kings way back in the 2018 IPL auction for INR 20 lakhs. He was picked up as a backup for their skipper MS Dhoni.
After warming the benches, Jagadeesan finally made his debut for Chennai Super Kings against Royal Challengers Bangalore on October 10, 2020.
The wicket-keeper batsman played a mature knock of 33 runs from 28 balls in the middle order on his debut and had a good game but scored a duck in his very next game.
He has played 5 games in the IPL so far and has scored 33 runs with the bat in his 2 innings. Jagadeesan will surely be a key player for the franchise as their skipper MS Dhoni is at the peak of his career.
